Daily Mindfulness to Take Your Power Back

Mindfulness and intention are the key to a healthy mental state. Too often do we hear a little voice that tries to make us feel small, sometimes from within us and sometimes its from someone else. Maybe reminding you of your fear of or how you cannot control situations and all the what ifs that come with this..

Truth is, no matter how much soul work you do there will always be more work to do! So we might as well smile and be proud of how far we have come while continuing to push and conquer.

You, my love are not only love and awareness but you are also a human being. So try to find compassion for yourself. While we’re experiencing this journey we call life we have two options, one option is we can take control of our lives and our power, or two we can lose our power and let life control us.

According to the Yoga Philosophy, since we cannot control what goes on out there in life it is our duty to learn to take control of our inner state of being so matter how chaotic it gets outside, on the inside you are at peace and content.

Journaling is a secret and essential tool to achieve inner peace. It’s an easily accessible way to tap into your soul and your truth. Try some of these prompts to improve your connection to self, stay in alignment with your truth, and take control of your life.

-What are three things you are grateful for? (try one thing in your immediate surroundings, something small and something big)

-How was yesterday? No matter how your brain labels it good or bad. What are you proud of yourself for? Is there something you could have done to nourish your soul more? If so, what’s the game plan for today?

Make the time to journal

Each and every day time passes us. Use that time, whether you plan 10 minutes every morning or night OR you do it in the moment! This is my specialty. I wish I could say every day I write what I am grateful for and I review my day at night or the morning after but truth is, I don’t have a consistent morning or night routine. I’m a mom with a 5 month old. So during my babies nap time I may write but sometimes I prefer movementor meditation but I still do observe what I am grateful for. Big, little, and in my surroundings. This is especially helpful when I am overwhelmed.

When you are upset, triggered, or even so happy and you want to remember the moment, JOURNAL. Keep it in your bag, with you at all times. You can use the Notes on your phone or a Google Document. Just get out what is inside. Get what is in your head on paper and notice how you feel after. My Notes on my iphone has been my diary for years. I get to delete, save, use later, never look again, whatever I want but most importantly, holding in your thoughts just is another way to say you are bottling up. At some point you are bound the explode.

Truth is, taking your power back is about your mind. Journaling is ONE TOOL for that. I have hundreds. Sign up for our Blog Subscription or contact Bia for private coaching.
