The Difference between Microblading, Nano Brows and Powder Brows

Let’s start with the simple version. Microblading is an eyebrow embroidery technique done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the skin. Nano brows are done using a tattoo machine Microblading has been around and popular for the past couple of years however it originates from over 20 years ago from throughout Asia. Most people have heard of it but for those that haven’t, it is an eyebrow embroidery technique done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the skin! Microblading only goes as deep as the epidermis, the superficial layers of the skin. This is what makes it semi-permanent unlike a cosmetic tattoo that is permanent. Implanting color closer to the skins surface allows the strokes to appear and remain crisp and fine.

I started microblading in January of 2017 and have perfected the art of brow mapping, color matching and the art of creating a flawless brow that is enhancing for your face shape! For anyone with sparse brows, thin brows or just looking for an overall flawless and natural looking brow permanent brows are perfect for you. The little strokes created mimic your hair strokes so once it is healed no one can tell they were done. When you come in for your visit we will discuss the desires you have for your brows. Customizing each eyebrow with your desires and facial structure is my top priority. I measure where the front should start, the arch and the tail of the brow as well as thickness. Once I show you your brow and we will agree on the shape and make any last adjustments. Many people ask about the pain but no worries, we use a numbing cream before we even get started! While the numbing cream is on I will customize your color and again we will agree on this before we get started! Microblading last 1-3 years.

The procedure best for you is determined based on your preference and skin type. Microblading is good for all skin types EXCEPT extremely thin and skin that suffers from rosacea. These conditions have too much bleeding and there would not be quality results. Dry skin heals clean, crisp, and very fine. Touch ups can be expected after 1.5+ years. Normal skin heals clean and even. Touch ups can be expected after 1+ years. Oily heals very soft. Touch ups can be expected before a year. Nano Brows last longer and are recommended for oily skin. Nano brows are done using a permanent make up machine and a nano needle. This process is a bit different yet very similar. Think of the process of a tattoo with the use numbing cream, brow mapping to achieve your perfect brow and again this permanent make up machine is made to insert only to the epidermis, the first layers of the skin, not as deep as a tattoo which goes to the dermis.

Microshading/Ombre Brows/Powder Brows are done using a stippling method with the use of an electric hand machine or manual tool. Many people do a hybrid brow, microblading with microshading and that’s my personal favorite. The shading adds density and definition to the brow in the arch and tail while microblading in the front maintains the natural appearance of your eyebrows and blends the shading throughout the brow flawlessly. Microshading or the hybrid brow is also highly recommended for those with oily skin.
